Bay de Noc Community College - West Campus - Iron Mountain, MI 

$12 Million – Completed fall of 2007

Blomquist and Associates designed the 65,000 square foot Bay West facility in Iron Mountain, MI.  The new facility will accommodate 1,200 students and house 25 classrooms, a lecture hall, a training room, two technology rooms, two seminar rooms, a commons area, five computer labs, a computer open lab, a testing lab, a nursing lab and a wet and dry lab for the chemistry department. Private Residences - Big Bad Water, Breitung Township, MI

Blomquist and Associates designed this 5,000 square foot luxury house on the a granite outcropping of the Menominee River.  This home is extremely energy efficient with Eco Block insulated concrete form construction and in-floor hydronic heat.

Harvest Bible Chapel Auditorium Addition - Elgin, IL

$40,000,000 – Phase I completed fall of 2006

- Phase II is estimated at $15 to $20 million

Blomquist and Associates established a joint venture with Goss/Pasma on this three level, 288,330 gross square foot floor area auditorium addition to the Harvest Bible Chapel Christian Academy building in Elgin, IL.  Phase I is to include fixed seating for 4,495 occupants to be increased to 7590 with the construction of Phase II.  This addition includes areas for daycare, preschool and youngster educational facilities.

The complex multi-use addition is phased to fit a tight initial budget.  Blomquist is in charge of all technical aspects of service during all phases of service and the coordination of architectural design with engineering and constructability.  Mark Blomquist is principal in charge of contract document production and construction phase service.  GPB is providing limited construction management services in addition to A/E service on the project. 

Calvary Church School Expansion – Naperville, Illinois

Blomquist and Associates established a joint venture with Goss/Pasma on this 155,680 gross square foot educational facility addition to the Calvary Church in Naperville, IL.  This addition includes daycare, preschool and K-6 educational facilities as well as a chapel and classroom/assembly areas for the education of older students.  The project is designed for the future addition of a second floor for the expansion to a full K-12 school.

Willow Creek Community Church–South Barrington, IL

Blomquist and Associates established a joint venture with Goss/Pasma on this 346,000 gross square foot auditorium addition to Willow Creek’s existing facility in South Barrington, IL.  This addition included three tiers of seating for a 7,300 total seating capacity.  The facility was designed for the presentation of performing arts including rehearsal and support areas.  The lower level of the facility also included a state of the art editing suite as well as infant/toddler daycare facilities and an early childhood educational center.

Izzo / Mariucci Fitness Center – Iron Mountain, MI

Blomquist and Associates performed services as both Architect and Project Manager on this fitness center addition to the Iron Mountain High School Gymnasium.  This 17,610 gross square foot addition houses a weight room, a wrestling room, a concession / meeting area, conference rooms and offices.  We also assisted with the preparation of a grant application for funds used to supply the equipment for the facility.

Dickinson County Correctional Center – Iron Mountain, MI

$2,000,000 - completed 2004

Blomquist and Associates performed services as both Architect and Project Manager on the additional facilities for the Dickinson County Correctional Center.  The project was constructed in phases with the 4,972 gross square foot building addition shell and a separate 5,520 gross square foot garage facility in Phase I and the completion of the building addition in phase II.  The two story garage facility is to be used for vehicle and ATV maintenance / storage and an office as well as a large evidence storage locker.  The two story addition to the jail's office space for the Sheriff and Prosecutor as well as a laundry facility for the jail.

Conserve School – Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin

This private boarding school for 400 students is located in Land O'Lakes, Wisconsin.  Blomquist and Associates Architects in joint venture with Interplan Practice provided design input during design and production phase and directed the permitting process that involves numerous local, state and federal agencies. Blomquist and Associates provided a full time on site staff responsible for construction management and field supervision for the architect led design/build contract.

Cable Constructors Office Facility Renovation

Current Bay West Facility – Iron Mountain, Michigan

Blomquist and Associates was contracted by Cable Constructors, Inc. to renovate their Carpenter Avenue facility in Iron Mountain for use as a rental facility for the current Bay de Noc facility. Blomquist and Associates provided full A/E design and construction management services.  We have provided a great deal of service to Cable Constructors over the years and consider them to be one of our best and most loyal clients.
